Do you use a camera on every job?
No. Cameras are used where they add information — confirming a line is clear, locating roots or damage, or documenting a recurring issue. A straightforward clog often does not need one, and being told an inspection is unnecessary is a legitimate outcome.
Can a camera see through a blockage?
No. A camera cannot see through standing sewage, and it cannot pass an obstruction that has not been cleared — whatever blocks the line also blocks the camera. Clearing generally has to happen before an inspection can show anything useful.
Can a camera tell me exactly what is wrong with my pipe?
It can show a great deal — roots, buildup, scale, offsets, cracks, standing water, changes in material. It cannot fully characterize every defect, cannot see outside the pipe, and cannot inspect sections it is unable to reach. Is the written report an engineer's report?
No. It is a record of what was observed during the inspection, written plainly, including what was uncertain. It carries no engineering stamp, offers no engineering conclusions, and does not guarantee the absence of conditions that could not be observed.
Can you tell me where my sewer line runs?
The camera head transmits a signal that can be traced from above ground, which establishes the approximate route of the line the camera can reach, and an approximate depth at located points where conditions allow. It is not a survey-grade map of an entire system, and depth readings can be affected by soil conditions and nearby metal.
